Abstract Studies of Science and Nature -- Painting & Sculpture

My acrylic paintings incorporate found objects, craft supplies, studio refuse, and heavy layers of collage.  The more layers that build up the more teeming it becomes.  Though sculptural, drawing and form are essential.  My process relies on an intuitive spontaneity that creates a messy and raw aesthetic.  I use my material to flesh-out a variety of landscapes and biological processes to help describe our relationship to our environment.  The natural world I depict is usually chaotic, bubbling, lustful, and fervid.  I think most of us feel this way most of the time; and if we don't we ought to.
